Fall Kit Vol. 1: Urban photo exploration
A quick note about this series: This is not intended for people who’ve already developed their personal style sense, but more intended as a basic outline of dressing well, and showcasing basic principles without beating it over your head. Something that can be easily copied without having to dig too hard or buy a whole new wardrobe for. Somethings I’ll feature will be new, but most of it I already have owned for quite sometime.
As fall comes around I’m going to going out to shoot a lot more. First: I hate summer. It is too damn hot. There no variation of colors. I can’t wear layers. SO I’M LAYERING ON LAYERS ON LAYERS in celebration.
For practical reasons though: I realize I’m going to be spending a lot of time outside and will need something for variable fall (aka Chicago) weather.
The Levi’s commuter jacket after I wax it down will keep me dry. it has a water resistant finish and since it will be breathable and therefore won’t be overheating. The concealed hood is going to be a nice touch as well just in case.
Waiting to pull the trigger on the Topo camo bag, as my Herschel is sadly not waterproof. Camo because why not?
Especially since it’ll cool down into the evening, the sweater and thicker oxford will do the trick to keep warm waiting for the bus/el/cab.
Naked & Famous chinos will do much more to keep me warm than a regular twill pant, and my round toe Red Wings so I don’t eat shit and die while climbing around stuff.
For accessories: my beat Corter for Japan bracelet (nicely aged if I do say so myself) adds an lightweight accent to my non watch arm while not getting all crazy in the way. For my watch I have my safety orange faced Bulova on a KC Co. Natural leather nato strap (c/o of KC Co.).
